Kobe Jogakuin College Division Receives Two Awards from the
Japanese Government Ministry of Education and Science

The College Division of Kobe College has received the Gendai Good Program Award, a prestigious national Japanese award recognizing programs which meet the educational needs of contemporary Japanese college and university students. The Ministry receives nearly 700 applications every year from all types of universities and colleges in Japan, and selects those submissions worthy of recognition and special funding. Kobe College's translation and interpretation program received this award in 2004, which resulted in significant financial support.

The 2007 Award included two programs of Kobe College's College Division.

The first is a program called "Career development and education for all Life Stages of women". The program addresses all phases of a woman's career: finding a job after graduation, raising a family as a working mother or homemaker, and returning to work after one's children are grown.

The second award is to the Human Sciences Department. The Program is called "Nurturing and educating women leaders who will create an active and vibrant local community". Kobe College has collaborated on this program with the City of Nishinomiya, the KC Alumnae Association, and an NPO which specializes in child care. Details of this particular award can be viewed at:
